Eventfull weekend? you could say that.

It's Friday eve, a weekend of fun ahead. Your driving along and come round a sharp corner to the scene of two cars just coming to a standstill after they've impacted, hard. There's 4 people in one car and the flames are already spreading underneath the whole car, kind of wakes you up I'll say.

The driver was smashed up good, both legs in tatters, and all the First Aid training you do says don't move the body.....mmmm. Char-grilled or paralysed, no contest so we dragged him out and away as the whole car went up. Luckily there was no Hollywood style explosions, well except for the lightbulbs. It sure was a scene straight from casualty though, took ages to get everyone to hospital too. Take it easy out there.

Yorkshire in the snow was a great tonic after all that, you guys missed out again, and the Santa Cruz and forks got sold so a successfull trip all round. Then the payback enevitably for having fun, as I watched our central heating boiler controller go off in a puff of evil smelling smoke on my return......DOH.

Coldest night of the year, Oh yes figures. The dogs have packed their bags and left home this morning they've had enough.

Snow Wahoo - Powercuts Boohoo

This snow is fun, but I wish it would freeze. It's still the same old slop underneath. So after a ride home offroad for 15 miles totally covered in crap, cold and hungry I'm slightly confused why home is all in darkness, infact its all the street. No power, agh nightmare.
Lucily all the crap in the van comes in handy, cooking and heat from a portable stove, sounds from a radio and the lumicycles came in well handy as portable candles. Just clamp the bulb to the battery and hey presto 4 hours of light, even if er indoors reckoned it wasn't as romantic, Doh.

Finally sparked back into life by 11pm, by which time I was ready to set fire to stuff for heat, now just need about 5 hrs to reset all those timers on things....ah technology don't you love it.

Saw this pic on Bikemagic, ah Dothie valley must go back there soon, but not this weekend thats booked for some oop North playtime.

Intensity increases

Ricardsons Cycles Corby, big up to the boys for pulling out the stops for us once again, go see these boys for your trick bits, and if you want a unrepeatable bargain on the last in stock Lupine mega HID light get there quick, it has to go at a silly price. Tell em Jack sent you.

Did 50 miles of Beta teasing on the Intense at the weekend and I'm smiling.
First up a big loop in the dry and Icy Peaks hills showed that this sucker can climb, and how. The only thing to phase the rear tyre was sheet Ice, and hell I can't complain at that, cleaned some sections that have always bugged me, it was superb, big thumbs up on the epic capability, can't even remember putting a foot down all day, awesome.

Phase2 and its off to Gorrick for a XC test. Well I can tell you my body failed but that's down to injuries and over eating abuse, but the bike was fun. Not as sharp as the Cruz in the tight bits, but not too slow that I'm wrestling it, wide bars were interesting in some of the really tight bits too.
Number one on the grin factor though was the drive pick up, it's like it's predicted your move and acts even before you do. Up short climbs if you have the legs it will surge past riders like their chains have come off. I'd read all those magsazine comments they come out with, about bikes riding lighter than their actual weight, but it's amazing to experience it first hand.

I know, yes its new shiny bike syndrome, that causes me to see all good, not totally the case, didn't feel very plush for 5 inchs on the rear, guess I've been spoilt by coil shocks recently. Right where's the shock pump.

Bugger trolling thro the gorrick photo's gorrick200205.htm and I was that fast they missed me. Good one of Gav off the start line though. Gav

Keep The Air on the Inside.

Back on the case again now, 130 miles already this week wow, still can't walk poper though. I blame all this new enthusism on all these extra minutes of daylight I can ride home in now, even did some full on mud tastic riding and loved it. Local mad malicha anti biking farmers are out in force laying their deadly traps of hawthorn cuttings again so just for BigRing...(was it 3 last time.....snigger) heres a recipe for a cheap home made tyre seal setup like Stans/Eclipse tubeless p

Or you could just get some bits here of course; justridingalong.co.uk Tell Jon I sent you.

Se you at Gorrick Rd2 on Sunday, I'll be the one on the sofa

Do I really want to sell it.

Tue Rides and Dream Bike

I love riding with buddies, Last nights ride was fun, 6 of us hit the streets.Starts with the usual round of chat about how knackerd we are, how X is recovering from a hernia op and Y from a cold and me pitching in with my torn leg muscle bla bla and then....
Ballistic, flat out ego charged climbing, first to exit the tight off road corner races, mad village sign sprints and well knacked legs all round. As it was below freezing we all needed to keep warm anyway, sure as hell did it was a killer.
we all decided it's a full on mud fest of an off road route coming next tuesday. You've been warned.

SOD: Build your dream bike here On-line hours of fun. DreamBike/ . It even guestimates the weight for you. Also a good ref source of all top line available kit out there. Makes you sick what the US prices are though.
Seems Lance has just announced the 2005 tour is on for his 7th in a row, now there's a suprise NOT. Come on Basso you can do it.

Retail theraphy works wonders

Torn Abductor muscle, bugger. That's a groin strain in the footie world, and I'm still crippled. So there we go 2 whole weekends have passed by and NO biking........Am I going stir crazy, No.

I've not gone soft, I'm just to busy fettling my new bike. tum te tum.

I know......What a bike tart... But I needed cheering up, anyway this time its for keeps, this is the one, no two timing this baby, oh no. Rash promises considering I haven't actually ridden it yet, but its got all my current favorite attributes. Big Bouncy yet still climbs like a Columbian on EPO. Anyone want to by a Superlight and a Patriot.

what's that, what is it, well how well do you lot think you know me then. A prize on offer of some plumz arm or leg warmers to the person who guesses correctly before anyone actually sees the beast. So I guess you've got a about a week then.

Guesses in the chat window or here only count. So fire away.

Stir crazy nightshifts & flip movie

4 days off the bike and I'm going stir crazy....arghh my hip is killing me, I can't even sit on a seat.
4 nightshifts this week to rub it in aswell. Think I need some retail theraphy to cheer me up.

Had a bizzare email today, someone from Japan wants to use one of my site photographs, fair enough I said help yourself, suprised that they bothered asking. No that's not good enough, they have now sent me an official form that I have to sign and fax back giving them permission to use it. It's from a place called JFE-Techno Research Corporation in Kawasaki Japan, so what have I stumbled on thats going to make them lots of money? Amazing though, most people just steal stuff of the Internet, but not me officer, oh no, never.....

Looking at the photopix site its wierd that two photos from the Newnham NPS round last year seem to be getting alot of hits, is this from your fanclub smiffy?

This is a test to see if I can insert stuff from Photopix..oh yes cracked it.

Speaking of photopix, check out their top photos gallery Top looked at shots/ what the ferk..... 11 million hits for one photo and its not even pornographic..... are there that many people bored at work then ????

And this should Interest BigRing - you might like this Frontflip movie

Chicksands calls

Oh boy that last rant is a touch dodgy, t'was good night though, and boy did I need the Beer blanket to aid sleep. My Hip feels like its got a red hot poker jammed in it, what a twat, biking is off for a few days, so look out for some new web content.

So when's the next trip away boys, seems like ages untill the next event. Speaking of which Kin hell Ironbike is cancelled, I'm pissed. Ffor the first year in ages work dosnt clash with it and now its been dumped. Apparently there's 250 mile of madness planned in September instead...ummmm.

This here site has various statistics logged and if your interested its running at about 120 unique visitors a day, either their damn bored or they like our style.
Some of the recent search strings are bizzare, how about;
1. fastest time for 100km on foot
2. if your tubes are tied is it normal to have two periods in one !!!!!

As for the most hit on files from web searches; by streets its always been Stans/Eclipse tyre sealant. Seems everyone out there is looking for the Eternal cure, closely follwed by people looking to hack a garmin GPS.

Have I put this up before - just incase not - blimy Chicksands is going mental must get down there soon and check it out..............cue more injuries then.
