Here is an update on Gary's progress -
Gary and Guy and the other 4 in the Double Dutch gang have successfully completed day 3 and no problems so far. It does sound really hard - perhaps even harder than last year.
Yesterday was probably the hardest day of the race and involved over 4km of pushing. Gary compared it to taking your bike on an alpine hut walk. Gary and Guy are in the TransAlp camp and are managing to get showers, massages and some sleep with the help of ear plugs.
I looked up the results on the web site and here are the results for day 3:
Gary/Guy - are 32nd (out of 134) - took 6hrs 54mins
Brian/Martine - are 14th (out of 49) - 7hrs 40mins
Gary/Adam - are 236th (out of 271) - 9hrs 15mins
