Easter Knees NOT

Hope you had a good Easter break, all those miles on bikes hey. Let me see my total was approximately........Uhm.....zero, first days off for months and I have to get the Lurgy.
Made up for it on last nights Plumz ride though, the first evening ride with extra daylight is always a great turning point in a years riding. We hit some great playspots last night and some new tracks that really should not be rideable at this time of year.
Its so dry out there (he says looking out the window at the pissing down rain) that it spurred us on for some good mileage, even if the puncture and mech gremlins seemed to be out in full. Its going to be a great summer if it continues in the same vain.

Something to brighten your day http://webmail.numplumz.com/horde/util/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fjoostsphotos.fotopic.net%2Fc99183.html&Horde=07863ea7ece6cd6c13c6550075a6e43f roadies mainly but nice.

Biopace rings make a comeback, yes shock horror for those of us with weak Knees. After Bobby Julich won the Criterium International race on Sunday using some mega egg shaped rings you can be sure the roadies will be thinking that's the secret to speed all over again. So funny when Eurosport comentator David Harmen did and shouted out 'Oh no - look at his chainring its squashed, he must have crashed' Te He.

Trivia fact of the day- Harmen lives in Northants and is a member of our road club Rockingham Forest Wheelers, not that we ever see him there!

Hard weekend

Blimy suprised myself this weekend.
Sat saw a heavy early morning work session, so I could escape to play road racer in the afternoon. Getting the arms and legs out for the first time in 05 must have done some good as we kept with the big boys and I felt great up the hills and even jumped Adi and BigRing to the line..cool.
So Sunday, it was going to be a fun spin round Thetford on the Singlespeed, but after the start it all went tits up. I seemed to be the lead singlespeeder as the one I saw ahead of me initially developed into a two man team. So red mist took over from pootling and I had to give it loads.
Doing virtually the whole race with Katie Middlehurst, proved to be a great plan as we helped each other along and had a good old natter to make it interesting. And Bugger me if I didn't end up 10th rider home on the day and the winner of the Senior Plus race too Superb! My body is a crock oh shit today though.

Probably was that lucky Mascot at the side of the Track Hey Ed! Inflatable jack is on the team.

Guess what BigRing punctured again........take cover...

Paddys day Lama's

As I work for the Irish, I thought I'd celebrate Paddys day by doing a big off road ride in this morning, boy was it good too. I bet there's not many of us who have met 3 Lama's on the trail whilst out riding, bizarre. Very Inquisitve young things they were too, where the hell did they escape from, who knows.

As my bosses hit the Guinness, I'll recover with a warm glow apres ride, all ready for Thetford this weekend which could be a scorcher if the weather men are to be believed.
Will Matt have a new improved boom box bike there, wait and see.
Matt and dead weight

If you haven't seen it yet, there's two new inspiring trail pages on site Tales of India from way back when I had a Marin and one to cause a thousand debates My Best rides ever see if you can work out how many you were present for.

Happy Paddys day

Biker Heaven

What a superb weekend, great trails around Malham and Appletreewick, some ripping descents and lots of playing in Snow.

Thats DC just about to eat snow, what's that fork he's got on the front.....Use SUB .....Stable under breaking ...Oh yea.
Another Bizzare incident was when downhill racer Dave Hemming was overtaken on the snow by Jon who'd taken to a waterproof map as transport instead, superb.

All this is topped off superbly by the New Inn in Appletreewick. A Belguim beer menu to die for; even one Trapist beer on draft. A bike Livery better than most peoples garages and superb food and board. Put it on your to do list.

Even the Bikes get comfortable beermats to rest their saddles on.

Have you seen this Peanut Butter is great No wonder I'm so Fat, err I mean fast. I eat about a jar a week.
Ressus Peanut Butter Cups....mmmmmmm... (that's the Homer in me escaping again)

No sleep till Mayhem

So the yearly midnight ritual of whizzing around everyomes houses getting forms signed is done.....yea right. Sitting there at 00:01 this morning I'm wondering how many others are going through this ritual, all in the name of hurting yourself for 24 hrs. Some might even be having a party, eagarly sitting round all waiting turns to fill in their details.
Wonder just how far they could push the entry fee up before we stop going, nobody knew the cost for this year, but we were still ready, cheque book and pen in hand. Seems really crazy that they spend ages designing a fancy form that most of us see for 10 minutes a year.
Ah well guys the lottery is underway, lets see if we are one of the chosen few.

Riders expressing a team Interest are:
Jack, BigRing, Ron, Stu, Nige, Martyn, Ed, Rik, Ian, Indian, Tom, and Steve from Tue nights. Bribes accepted from now on. (by the way it was £190 to enter)

Hang on at 450 teams thats £85,500 in Mr Adams account by the end of the week......well you got a good prize for 4th last year didn't you Ed ;-)
