If you go down to the woods

An Army of riders hurtling round Chicksands dusty tracks and some top dual fun. 15 riders meant big dustballs and a few spills. Nod and Steve are our new no-fear jump hero's and Ron showed the youngsters up on the Shore. Nice pedal tatto on your back Graham.
We'll See those that are going at the Mayhem.

Plumz Hit Beastway

The plumz Singlespeed muppets hit Beastway to check out this long running evening race series, they have been going 12 yrs, only 1 less than the FNSS. Well worth a trip down the M11 some time, we had a laugh.
Its gayboy racing compared to our set up though, Loads of parking, Cafe for Tea and Cakes before the race, changing rooms and Showers afterwards, and did I mention the tea and Cakes.

Adi snapped his chain (even a BMX thick one) on his prelap, and Ed chasing the peckerlegs down punctured out of the race. Loads of great singletrack and some of those climbs are killer after an hour of mad racing.
The BMX course bit is great too.

FNSS round 5 - Gilmorton report

FNSS round 5 - Gilmorton.
Well that was one of the weirdest races I have ever done, the first time I've ever got faster as a race progressed, must have been the red mist of beating Keith for the first time ever.

5 laps of a very bumpy virgin course , new for 2005 tested the riders to the full.
Grahma Dickens/CATS led the starting charge with a fine turn of speed as the pack sped off wary of the battle for early places in the narrow wood sections.
Adi Scott soon took over again, and threatened a reapeat of last weeks huge lead, but K Bavin and Phil Hughes had other idaes and bridged the gap after the first lap.
A numplumz trio of Nigel Scott, leading Vet Jack Peterson and Junior Ian Whatling were up next with Paul Robertson/Treads close behind.
Adi Scott and Bavin circulated together for the whole race, and it came down to a final sprint finish which Scott grabbed by a wheel for his second race win on the trot.
takinhg over 3rd from half distance Robertson celebrated his fist friday night series poduim by beating series leader Hughes (4th) well as he kept the leaders in sight all race.
Hughes could not keep off charging Peterson who led was storming through the seniors to take the Vets win, as the 4th man over the line on the night. Gary Hill gave chase early on but could not sustain the pace and faded to 3rd as Keith Sperry took second. Thats 2 wins each for Sperry and Peterson as the Vets series hots up.
Ian Whatling finally scored a long anticipated win over Harris for the Junior race, keeping up his great start to trouble the top seniors all race.
Carrie Carruthers again dominated the ladies field for the win.Friday Night Summer Series 2005Round 5 results

Ummm........... beer

Went round a buddies own brewery last night. Not your average hobby home kit lark setup though. Oh no this is a full on brewing plant in acres of stainless steel with heaps of Hops, Barley and Malt in huge sacks. 8 barrels a time brewing capacity. And boy does he know how to mix a good recipe. He's been busy on the imaganative names front too, as befits a good real ale.
And he's been brewing long before those NUTS came out too, they pinched his name!

see Nobbys Brewery might have to help him with that website.

FNSS round 5 - Gilmorton.
Well after the wayward directions and the initial shock of the course it all went pretty well.
From the crash and mishap comments afterwards its seems it was trickier than it first appeared. 6 inchs of plushness both ends helped no end. I finally beat Keith in a race, Wahoo! 4th over the line on the night was going some for me.
Unofficail result:
1. Adi Scott in a close sprint finish from......
2. some geezer I missed his name.
3. Paul Robertson/ Treads who is really improving fast, nice one.
4. Phil Hughes
The real race
1. JP
2. Keith Sperry
3. Garry Hill
Nod finally grabbed a win in the Juniors after a storming start.
Carrie Carruthers again headed the ladies.

It appears that tonights FNSS race is not at the original location.

the new location is on the same Lutterworth to Gilmorton road - but is now on the edge of Gilmorton , up past the 136 marker on the above map.
